A building previously used by a local scout association in Ormesby is being turned into a place of worship after a change of use planning permission was approved.
The decision to grant the change of use for applicant the New Covenant Church was revealed in a recently published set of delegated decisions by Redcar and Cleveland Council . Ormesby ward councillor Carole Morgan said the building in Allendale Road, which has fencing around its perimeter, had been vacant for some time.
A small number of residents raised concerns about parking. One said there were already problems with school traffic parking on pavements and the scout premises only had limited parking.
The application, submitted earlier this year, described how a single storey side extension would be added to the building
