FORT MILL, S.C. — A pair of teens - the youngest of them just 13 years old - are facing charges more than a week after Chester man was found shot to death at a park in Fort Mill .

Fort Mill Police said officers arrested 18-year-old Jalen Daquavious Thames of Rock Hill along with the 13-year-old on Tuesday. They're accused of killing 21-year-old Johnny Wayne Martin Cook at Steele Street Park on August 28, 2025. Both suspects are charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a stolen firearm.

The department said officers responded to the reported shooting the night it hapend. When officers arrived, they Cook suffering from a gunshot wound. Cook was pronounced dead at the scene.
