BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Southwest Harbor man pleaded guilty in a Bangor courtroom Tuesday for possessing and receiving child pornography.

According to the U-S Department of Justice, 36-year-old Gary Peters solicited the material he received from two minors online back in October of 2023.

They say the FBI ended up searching his home in March of 2024, finding more material on electronics in his home, including his phone.

According to the DOJ, Peters faces 5 to 20 years behind bars and a fine of 250-thousand dollars, followed by a lifetime of supervised release.

They say he will be sentenced following an investigative report by the U.S. probation office.
