CLEVELAND (WJW) - Clevelanders in seven wards are deciding which city council candidates will square off in the November general election.

Residents cast their ballots for the Sept. 9 primary election, although council members said voter turnout was reportedly low on Tuesday.

This is the first city council election since a redistricting plan was approved to cut Cleveland's number of wards from 17 to 15.

The top-two candidates in each ward will appear on the November ballot.
