The race for the U.S. Senate in Texas is starting to get crowded. Now, three Democrats are vying for their party's nomination, along with two Republicans.

The campaign features a sitting senator, the state's attorney general, an astronaut, a former member of Congress, and now a sitting state representative.

State Representative James Talarico from Williamson County is the newest entrant into the race for U.S. Senate. He has served in the Texas House since 2018 and is a former teacher and pastor.
