CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The FBI on Tuesday shared new details about Iryna Zarutska, the 23-year-old woman stabbed to death last month on the Charlotte light rail.

Federal officials announced on Tuesday, Sept. 9 that a federal charge was being brought against Decarlos Brown Jr., the man accused of attacking Zarutska on Aug. 22 . During Tuesday’s announcement, James Barnacle -- the FBI special agent in charge in Charlotte -- shared details about Zarutska that may be new to the public.
