GILFORD, N.H. —
A fire at a historic castle in the Lakes Region is considered suspicious and investigators have some leads as to who might be responsible, police said.

The fire at the historic Kimball Castle in Gilford happened on the morning of Aug. 27 .
According to Gilford Fire Department Chief Stephen Carrier, the building is a complete loss. He said the floors, ceilings and roof collapsed, and what was left of the structure was unsafe.

Gilford police told News 9 on Tuesday that the fire is considered suspicious and that investigators do have some leads as to who might be responsible.
