Eastern Colorado could see up to tennis-ball-sized hail and 70 mph winds amid a severe thunderstorm watch on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service .

Strong storms are expected Tuesday evening along the Colorado-Kansas border, including parts of Bent, Kit Carson, Prowers, Cheyenne, Kiowa and Yuma counties, according to the severe thunderstorm watch . The watch will remain in effect through 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service .

Severe hail up to 2 1/2 inches in diameter, roughly the size of a tennis ball , and damaging winds up to 70 mph are possible across eastern Colorado, forecasters said.
