ST. JOHNS, Mich. (WILX) - The backyard pastime of playing frisbee with your dog has turned into a full-fledged sport, and athletes of all breeds competed in St. Johns on Sunday, competing in the UpDog challenge triple crown.

Ashley Kutzli is the co-captain of the Leashed Favorite Dog Club in St. Johns. She helped organize the competition and competed in it, one of many competitions going on around the country.

“We’re playing three of Updog’s nine games, and we’re competing here locally, but we’re competing globally,” Kutzli said. “Clubs around the world are playing in the month of September, these three games, and then we’re going to compare the scores throughout all of the clubs throughout the United States.”
