ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A toddler is back home safe after an alleged kidnapping incident, Tuesday afternoon.

The St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department said on September 9, it received a report from a mother, claiming her 1-year-old child had been taken without consent by two men. One was identified as the child’s relative, while the other man had a previous relationship with the mother, but was not related to the child.

The suspects left in a red SUV.

At around 1:40 p.m., the suspect vehicle was captured on a stationary license plate reader in Farmington, Missouri. A St. Francois County deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but lost sight of it.
