MARYSVILLE, Calif. —
A 39-year-old man has died after he experienced a medical emergency while he was held at Yuba County Jail, according to the sheriff's office.
Around 12:30 p.m. Monday, officials said correctional officers responded to the medical emergency and performed life-saving measures until paramedics and fire personnel arrived. However, the inmate was pronounced dead.
The man who died has not yet been identified.
Officials said the 39-year-old had been in custody since August, but they did not share what charges he was booked for.
The inmate's cause of death is under investigation.
