HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- One of the victims has been identified following the fatal crash that took place on U.S. 60 last week.
According to officials, Brian Deaton, 43, was identified as one of the two victims killed in the two-vehicle collision. Deaton was the passenger of the vehicle.
Justin Phillips, the driver of the other vehicle, was taken to a Louisville hospital for serious injuries.
State Medical Examiner's Office is still working on identifying the driver of the vehicle. The sheriff's office says the amount of damage done to the car has made it difficult to assess the scene but hopes to put out more information soon.
The sheriff's office has been gathering input from the community about safe driving on the bypass, leading to increased patrols on the bypass starting tomorrow.
