CLEVELAND (WJW) – A sweeping crackdown by U.S. Marshals and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) nabs more than 130 violent criminals while also rescuing 10 missing children.
U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio Pete Elliott said the 30-day mission was called Operation Trident because it was a three-pronged approach to arrest violent fugitives, find missing kids and arrest sexual predators.
“A little bit of everything,” said Elliott. “From murder to rape to robbery and sexual predators preying upon kids.”
Members of NOVFTF worked 14 hours a day and spread out across Northern Ohio with a focus on Cleveland.
They arrested five homicide suspects, 46 felonious assault suspects and 10 sex offenders while also recovering 10 missing children.
