MADISON (WKOW) -- Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is formally launching his campaign for governor .

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Crowley has served in the State Assembly and has been the Milwaukee County executive since 2020.

Crowley sat down with 27 News and said he's running to continue the work Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) has done in Wisconsin.

"Governor Evers has been the steady, calm strength that we have needed to help get us over the pandemic, help protect our democracy, but also to protect working families across this state. And I truly believe, with his announcement of not seeking reelection, that we need some strong executive leadership, but we also need a fighter," Crowley said.
