It sure was a great way for Cuthbertson to end his successful racing season!

The Susan Wagner and Wagner College alum took control with a little more than a quarter mile to go last Sunday, racing in rainy conditions against the area’s best milers to win his section of the annual 5th avenue Mile.

“Going into the mile, I felt confident and relaxed,” said Cuthbertson who last month joined Charlie Marsala as the borough’s only sub-four minite milers .

“The training and racing have been going really well, so I knew I was ready to compete and put myself in a good position.”

Running with the pack, the Empire Elite runner knew when to make his move.

“I made my move and took the lead with about 400m left and from there I just focused on keeping the momentum and closing strong,” he said.
