Police are investigating a shooting that happened at a Walmart in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Tuesday night.

According to police, an officer working a security detail inside the store reported hearing multiple gunshots coming from the parking lot. The officer immediately responded outside and found a woman near the police vehicle with a gunshot wound.

The woman told the officer that the shooter was her ex-boyfriend.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect began firing at the victim from his vehicle as she drove through the park
