Toronto parents say they are frustrated that they can no longer turn to a trustee for help now that the Doug Ford government has taken over the Toronto District School Board.

Speaking at a news conference at Queen's Park on Tuesday, parents say they have tried reaching out to the supervisor now in charge of the TDSB, Rohit Gupta, but have had no luck.

Gupta is one of five supervisors appointed by Ontario Education Minister Paul Calandra to take over five school boards, the TDSB included, in response to what he called financial mismanagement.

But while school board trustees were accessible to parents, Bibi Safraw Hanif, a mother of three, including one with autism, said the same cannot be said of supervisors.
