HUDSON, Ohio – The Hudson Military and Veterans’ Commission and the Hudson City School District are hosting the inaugural 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Challenge this Thursday, Sept. 11 to honor the first responders who died during the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The free event begins at 8 a.m. at Hudson Memorial Stadium, located at 2500 Hudson Aurora Rd. Participants will climb the stairs – 2,014 of them – at the stadium, working toward the equivalent of 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Center towers.

The event is physically strenuous and is not a race. Participants are encouraged to complete the climb at their own pace. The climb can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours, according to event organizers.
