A task force considering the potential impact of data centers in Prince George’s County will meet with residents Wednesday to discuss findings so far.

The Prince George’s County Council established a data centers task force earlier this year to study, listen to residents and offer recommendations to leaders about the best way to move forward, and a meeting has been planned for Wednesday.

An online petition garnered thousands of signatures to block a data center at the former Landover Mall site.

“There seems to be an assumption that the next meeting is about the Landover Mall site, but it is not about the Landover Mall site,” said Wala Blegay, member of the Prince George’s County Council and its data center task force.
