Behind a speedy offense and a stingy defense, the Trinity High School soccer team kept its perfect season alive Tuesday.

Junior striker Tanner Travis scored two goals as the host Shamrocks beat Collegiate 5-1 in a battle of state powerhouses.

Camden Beard, Charlie Johnson and Cooper Tyler also scored as Trinity — ranked No. 2 in the state by RundellRankings.com — improved to 12-0.

No. 3 Collegiate (6-2) lost for the second time in as many weeks, having fallen to St. Xavier 4-0 last Wednesday .

Zane Spitler’s goal pulled Collegiate within 2-1 early in the second half, but Trinity answered 90 seconds later on Tyler’s goal for a 3-1 lead. Travis followed with two goals within a five-minute span.

Trinity has outscored its opponents 59-3 through 12 matches.
