A 13-year-old boy was killed and several other teens were hospitalzed after suspects opened fire in a Santa Ana neighborhood.
On Sept. 8, Santa Ana police responded to a shooting near 400 South Susan Street around 8:20 p.m.
Officers found a 13-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three additional teens aged 14, 15 and 16 were also found with gunshot wounds. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment and are expected to survive.
The suspect or suspects involved fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators believe the motive to be gang-related.
Homicide detectives are working to identify additional witnesses who may have information about the incident.
