After narrowly rejecting a similar proposal earlier this year, Owasso voters approved a multimillion-dollar school bond package Tuesday.
According to unofficial returns posted Tuesday night by the Oklahoma State Election Board, Owasso Public Schools’ 10-year, $169 million bond proposal passed with 66.34% of the 5,514 votes cast.
State law requires that school bonds receive at least 60% approval for passage.
Among the projects in the proposition are a $21.2 million fine arts addition for Owasso High School’s East Campus, a $66.8 million Fifth Grade Elementary Center on land already owned by the district, and money to renovate and equip classrooms at Owasso’s nine elementary schools to offer full-day prekindergarten starting in August 2028.
