An Orcutt man who coaches for the Central Coast Youth Football League has filed a Santa Barbara County Superior Court lawsuit over a suspension he received for allegedly violating rules prohibiting unsanctioned team practices, accusing the nonprofit of selective enforcement after other teams engaged in similar conduct but weren’t punished.

Orcutt Youth Football League coach John De Marco filed the suit in Santa Maria against the CCYFL on Thursday last week, alleging the organization unfairly barred him from league activities for allowing his son and other teammates to play a recreational game of football at a local high school on the weekend.
