JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Despite complaints from some Westmont Borough residents, the borough council approved a new formal agreement Tuesday with Ferndale Area School District that allows varsity sports to be played in the district’s elementary school gymnasium.

The elementary school gym at 100 Dartmouth Ave. is newer and bigger than Ferndale Area’s high school gym. For the past four years, varsity sporting events have been played there. ×
