COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Coventry Police Department has identified the suspect who allegedly caused a police pursuit and struck a vehicle on Sept. 6.

23-year-old David Anthony will be charged with duty to stop in accident resulting in personal injury, reckless driving/eluding a law enforcement officer – second offense, driving after denial/suspension/revocation for certain violations, and obstructing officer in execution of duty.

On Sept. 6, police attempted to pull over a pickup truck towing a trailer on Route 117 westbound, which resulted in the vehicle driving faster.

Police said the truck then allegedly collided with another vehicle traveling west.

The driver of the pickup truck, later identified as Anthony, exited his truck and allegedly ran away on foot.
