Poland has taken military action to address violations of its airspace amid ongoing tensions related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that an operation is underway to respond to these repeated incursions.

"An operation is underway related to the repeated violation of Polish airspace," Tusk stated on social media platform X. He confirmed that the military has deployed weaponry against the unidentified objects.

This operation occurred on Wednesday, shortly after Poland's military reported that it had activated its air defenses, alongside NATO allies, to intercept Russian drones that had crossed into Polish airspace from Ukraine. This marks the first instance during the Ukraine conflict where Poland has directly engaged Russian military assets within its borders.

The situation highlights the escalating tensions in the region as Poland seeks to protect its sovereignty and respond to potential threats from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
