GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - An animal crimes investigator is speaking out for the first time since four members of a rescue group were arrested for stealing a dog and putting him down.
“It was a very bad case, probably one of the worst I’ve seen posted like that,” Greenville County Sheriff’s Office investigator, Darren Britt said.
Animal crimes investigator Darren Britt often encounters animals in horrific situations, but a picture of a dog named Loey stopped him in his tracks.
“Obviously we’re going to look into it. We always do when we see stuff like that,” Britt said.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said animal rescue group, Anakin’s Trails stole a fourteen-year-old cocker spaniel from his own yard, then had him put down without his owner’s knowledge.
