A major overhaul to a busy emergency unit is set to reap the benefits of major upgrade, as the region braces for several days of unsettled weather.
The once-tired NSW State Emergency Service (SES) Portland Unit has been completely revitalised, with a new roof, ceiling and floor linings, along with a full repaint, with an upgraded kitchen and new furniture.
The upgrades come at a cost of $330,000, with NSW SES Portland Unit Commander Ebony-Leigh Partridge saying the upgrades mean members can focus on training, readiness and response.
