GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Gerald Abrams,36, shot at Cross City police and Dixie County sheriff’s deputies in June of last year.

Authorities fired back, sending Abrams to the hospital.

He was sentenced on Friday after being found guilty in July of attempted second-degree murder.

No law enforcement officers were hurt, but officials say a bullet hit the leg holster of a deputy.
