YAKIMA, Wash. – Drivers in Yakima will face lane closures on South First Street starting tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 9, with the work continuing through the end of the month.
The closures, between Old Town Road and Washington Avenue, are due to tree trimming and lowering manhole lids. These will be intermittent from Sept. 9 to Sept. 14.
From Sept. 15 through Sept. 26, South First Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Crews will grind and overlay north and southbound travel lanes. Road closures will occur at times, and detours will be posted.
Intermittent lane closures will also occur during the week of Sept. 29. The project’s work hours will be 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Drivers are urged to slow down in work zones, watch for workers and follow speed
