CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has welcomed a surprise new addition to its furry fleet — a baby red panda.

The zoo announced on social media that its red panda parents, mom Poppy and dad Willie, welcomed a cub on July 3. The Metroparks plans to reveal its name and gender on Friday, September 12.

“This baby red panda is just over 2 months old and is healthy, curious and already stealing the hearts of our animal care team,” the zoo wrote in its announcement.
