SAINT PAUL, Minn. — A first aid training session was held at the Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub on Tuesday in response to the recent shooting at Annunciation Catholic School. But this type of first aid training didn't address physical wounds. Instead, it focused on the emotional aftermath of such a tragedy.
Led by M Health Fairview's Christina McCoy, the manager of Community Health Equity Initiatives, and Emily Carpenter, the Community Partnerships manager, the two-hour Psychological First Aid (PFA) training session aimed to equip participants with the tools to support themselves and others in times of crisis.
