Things have been quiet for years on Balmer Road in rural Niagara County.
People say they moved here for the peaceful surroundings, affordable housing, ability to own a few acres of land and close proximity to a good school district for their kids.
”It’s quiet. It’s safe. There are kids who ride their bikes out here,” said Jimmy Alfiere, director of sales and marketing at Autumn’s Gate, a horseback riding camp on Balmer Road that hosts hundreds of kids every summer.
”That would all change when there are big trucks going down the road,” he added.
