OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Discussions continued in Oshkosh about allowing ATVs and UTVs on certain roadways in the city.

The city’s transportation committee opted to wait on recommending an ordinance to the common council, several members saying they need more data before moving forward.

The discussion of an ATV/UTV ordinance in Oshkosh began shortly after Winnebago County approved a similar ordinance back in June, allowing ATVs and UTVs to be used on county roads.

While many feel it could be positive for tourism and recreational purposes, they also feel there needs to be proper regulations.

The committee plans to conduct more research with professionals and listen to the community’s thoughts before moving forward with an ordinance.
