Former New York Yankees outfielder Brian Dayett has died, according to his former teammate Jody Davis. He was 68 years old.

Dayett spent the 1983 and 1984 seasons with the Yankees, before playing with the Cubs from 1985-87. He appeared in 218 Major League Baseball games over the course of his five-year MLB career, hitting .258 with 14 home runs and 68 RBIs.

Jody Davis, who played with Dayett during his time with the Cubs, revealed the news about Dayett’s death on his Facebook page .

"Brian fought a 25-year battle against Parkinson’s Disease, with the loving support of his wife Christine and their two sons," Davis posted.
