KENNEWICK, Wash. – The city of Kennewick is organizing multiple events on September 11 to honor the lives lost 24 years ago. The activities will take place at the 9/11 World Trade Center Memorial located at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex.

The events are scheduled from 6:30 to 10:45 a.m. and will begin with the presentation of the colors, followed by the national anthem and the posting of the guard. The changing of the guard will occur every half hour.

Kennewick is among the few communities in the U.S. that possesses a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. Lampson International collaborated with the city and the Port Authorities of New York and New Jersey to facilitate the monument’s transfer and fabrication.
