Each side scored a goal early in a half, Denfeld’s Ayden Daniel three minutes into the first half and Hermantown’s Hunter Nelson less than two minutes into the second, as honors were even in a 1-1 Lake Superior Conference boys soccer draw on Tuesday night at Corey Veech Field at Centricity Stadium in Hermantown.

Hermantown keeper Ethan Aysta saved a late penalty kick from Denfeld and made a kick save at point-blank range to preserve the tie.

Aysta was credited with 12 saves for the Hawks, while Logan Bradford had eight for the Hunters.

Spencer Kidd recorded a first-half hat trick for the Spartans as they cruised past River Falls on Tuesday night.
