ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -Some St. Louis Public Schools parents say ongoing transportation issues are preventing their kids from playing sports.
“We have no school buses to be able to get her,” said Dollie Nesbitt, an SLPS parent.
Nesbitt said her daughter plays on her school’s volleyball team, but the district failed to provide transportation to a recent game.
“They were supposed to have afterschool activity buses that would take them home, and we don’t have it. They told us yesterday at 3:15 they didn’t have any buses to be able to take them to the volleyball game… The game started at 4,” Nesbitt said.
She said multiple students ended up piling into one car so they didn’t have to forfeit. Without reliable transportation, Nesbitt said, many students are left without opportunitie
