SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Via de la Valle near the Del Mar Fairgrounds will be temporarily closed Tuesday due to road work.
From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., crews will work on asphalt overlay for more than 1.8 lane miles from just east of San Andres Drive to just east of the intersection of Jimmy Durante Boulevard and Valley Avenue, the City of San Diego said in a news release Tuesday.
There will also be on-ramp closures from Via de La Valle to northbound and southbound Interstate 5 on Tuesday night. Eastbound and westbound traffic on Via de la Valle will also be reduced in each direction.
The maintenance is part of a $4.8 million investment aiming to remove damaged roadway surfaces, replace them with fresh asphalt and restrip the lanes.
