Evergreen Public Schools on Monday filed a request in Clark County Superior Court for an injunction forcing striking classified employees back to work .

A hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday.

About 1,400 paraeducators, bus drivers, security and maintenance staff represented by the Evergreen Chapter of Public School Employees of Washington SEIU Local 1948 went on strike Aug. 26, delaying the first day of school . Schools have been closed since .

On Tuesday evening, the district sent an email to employees, students’ families and media that school will be closed again Wednesday, but the subject line stated “Tentative Agreement Reached; School Expected to Start on Thursday, Pending Union Ratification.”

Another email went out less than 10 minutes later stating the previous subject
