Voters in Tuesday’s preliminary election narrowed down the wide field of candidates for Boston City Council, reducing the total roster for the Nov. 4 general election from 41 to 24.

In the at-large race, with 69.8% of votes counted, unofficial tallies showed that incumbents Ruthzee Louijeune received 17.7% (26,651) of the vote, Julia Mejia 17% (25,766), Erin Murphy received 16.5% (24,934) and Henry Santana 13% (19,712), former Councilor Frank Baker 11.4% (17,195) and Alexandra E. Valdez 7.7% (11,626), Marvin Dee Mathelier 5.7% (8,660), Will Onuoha 4.6% (6,999), Rachel Nicole Miselman 3.2% (4,838) and Yves Mary Jean 2.5% (3,840) appear to be the candidates that will vie for the four
