Jonathan Kuminga, Josh Giddey, and Cam Thomas were all reportedly seeking contracts valued at $30 million per year. Recently, Giddey secured a four-year, $100 million deal with the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, Thomas opted to take Brooklyn’s $5.99 million qualifying offer.
Now, all eyes are on Kuminga. The Warriors have already extended him a qualifying offer worth $7.9 million. According to Monte Poole of NBC Sports, Kuminga is expected to accept it.
“Kuminga signing the qualifying offer remains the anticipated outcome. The deadline to do so is Oct. 1. Meanwhile, Al Horford and the rest of the veterans in Golden State’s waiting room are quietly pleading for clarity,” the report noted.
