The Vampire Diaries is back in the news about 16 years after it first debuted!

The CW supernatural series premiered in September 2009, running for eight seasons and 171 episodes.

Based on the book series by LJ Smith and created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec , the show centered on “seventeen-year-old Elena is torn between two vampire brothers, good Stefan and the evil Damon, who face new dangers in the town of Mystic Falls.”
