When he first started on the journey, Jeff Faint was nonplussed. Little did he know how much the next five years would change his life.

In 2021, he (in tandem with Abby Schmiedel) agreed to coach the Kootingal-Moonbi Roosters women at the recommendation of Geoff Sharpe.

By his own admission, Faint was "wasn't overly interested" in the idea at the time.

But it wasn't long before he began to love the role and the "great bunch of girls" which he was tasked to oversee and develop.

"I said to Gavin Chesterfield, who's managed the team this year and who's been running the water, 'Mate, we're going to look back on these days and remember how good they are when this all finishes'," Faint said.
