NEW BOSTON – New Boston Huron’s Ian Petrick was the Monroe County Region Boys Soccer Player of the year last season.

He is off to a terrific start in 2025, recently breaking the Monroe County Region record of 102 career goals set by Zach Cepo of St. Mary Catholic Central.

But repeating as Player of the Year is no guarantee for the senior.

He is one of eight underclassmen who made the All-Region team in last fall.

His teammate Johann Vasquez Martinez returns along with fellow seniors Jaxon Bolster of Ida, Dom Bongiorno of Gibraltar Carlson, Charlie Brown of Milan, Brady McBride of Flat Rock and Nolan Sanders of Airport along with junior Dan Holycross of Ida.
