Two incumbent Anne Arundel County Council members have announced their campaigns for reelection, both hoping to bring their experience back to the seven-person legislative body, which is poised to look much different in 2027.

Amanda Fiedler, an Arnold Republican, will seek a third straight term representing District 5 on the council. District 4 representative and council chair Julie Hummer, a Laurel Democrat, is pursuing a second.

“It has truly been an honor to serve the residents of District 5 for the last seven years,” Fiedler wrote in a Facebook post . “We have made meaningful changes together, and I know the legislation I have passed has made our county a better place and had a significant impact on the lives of residents, but I know there is more to be done.”
