Are you tired of seeing your neighbor's hanging over your property? What can you do about it?
Cumberland County spokesperson Diane Rice said Sept. 8 that there are no county codes or regulations pertaining to trimming trees that grow over onto your property or liability if the tree damages your property.
"Generally speaking, if trees or shrubs are overhanging a line, a property owner has the ability to trim or cut the encroaching portion of the tree or shrub," she said. "However, it is very important for the resident to know the actual line location. If property damage is a concern, we would defer the resident to consult their insurance company regarding liability."
