BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - College football is back, and so are all the festivities that go along with it, like tailgating, grilling, and long days out in the sun. While you are enjoying all these things on the Bluff and in Death Valley, East Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services is ready to step in if needed.

Over the weekend, more than 60 EMS calls were made between the Southern and LSU games.

Most calls are for heat-related medical emergencies.

Up to 18 EBR EMS employees are stationed at each stadium to ensure there are enough hands on deck.

EBR EMS also has mutual aid agreements with other Louisiana EMS agencies to have more staffing on hand to be prepared for big games.
