Montreal-based CAE Inc. will unveil plans Wednesday to establish a new multimillion-dollar aviation training centre in Calgary, reaching a 15-year agreement with WestJet — and putting another key plank in place for the city’s growing aviation hub.
The flight simulator manufacturer will develop and operate a new 126,000-square-foot facility near the Calgary airport that will host eight of its full-flight simulators, cabin trainers and digital learning tools.
Construction on the new Alberta Training Centre of Excellence for aviation and aerospace will begin later this year. It’s expected to open in 2028.
