IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - UPDATE: The boil advisory issued in parts of Iberville Parish was lifted on Tuesday, Sept. 9, after testing confirmed that the water is safe for consumption and there is no contamination, according to officials.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Iberville Parish Government announced Monday morning, Sept. 8, that all residents served by the Intracoastal Water System West are under a boil advisory.
Officials say crews located and repaired a leak on the main system, but as a precaution, the advisory will remain in effect until water samples are tested and cleared by the Louisiana Department of Health to confirm no contamination is present.
Residents affected are advised to boil water for at least one full minute before using it for drinking, cooking, or food preparation
